The 2016 elections, which took place in December, allowed Mirziyaev to win a legitimate victory. He was able to score around 88%. In just a few days, he renounced the post of prime minister and also took the oath of office. All this allowed him to become president of Uzbekistan.
A few months after Mirziyoyev was appointed to the post, he traveled to Turkmenistan. It was here that he had a meeting with the first president.
From the very beginning, the President of Uzbekistan decided that he would establish good relations with those neighboring countries. Mirziyoyev went to Turkmenistan especially for this purpose. After some time, he went to Kyrgyzstan, as well as to Tajikistan. All this made it possible to further simplify the process of traveling and moving as much as possible.
