There are currently a great many styles in which houses and apartments are designed. This is also a high-tech, art deco, eclecticism and, of course, the old kind classic among designers.
Creating the interior to adhere to strictly one style is quite difficult, since you need to clearly know all its basics and principles. In this article I would like to talk about the style that has recently been widespread in Russia – minimalism. It is great for those who have a small room for design and who wants to create a modern interior around themselves.
The basic principles of minimalism
The design of the room in the style of minimalism most often dictates the use of calm light colors. Quite rarely, but still happens, the use of saturated and active colors.
Important importance is attached to the design of the window opening. The window will look perfect in the entire wall, but if a magnificent look opens from it, then the curtains will not be required at all. Nature outside the window itself will bring harmony to the house and the desired atmosphere. Well, if you do not think a window without curtains, then decorate it with plain curtains or blinds.
Minimalism does not exclude the use of accessories in the interior. But they must be made in a modern style, preferably correct geometric shapes. This style completely eliminates the use of ancient or antique furniture or other similar items. In the spirit of minimalism, there will be paintings in simple dark frames, which will depict abstract drawings.
Japanese minimalism
Japanese minimalism is considered one of the best examples of this style. All pieces of furniture are simple and unobtrusive, almost without jewelry. The floor is most often made of dark wood, on which bamboo mats are located, and wall decoration is almost minimal. In the Japanese interior, screens and other sliding structures look very advantageous.
The whole room looks one whole
Japanese style involves simple monophonic colors. Such as black, white and brown. The cabinets are replaced by niches built into the walls, but there are no chairs at all, since the Japanese eat and sleep directly on the floor.
Minimalism does not exclude functionalism
All interior furniture items in the spirit of minimalism must perform several functions. Often there are cabinets in which bedding and clothes are placed in sofas and beds. The table can move in and be disguised in a closet or wall. Minimalism involves the creation of such an interior where there will be free space, and each item and accessory will be in its place.
